The Beginning
From the Souks of Arabia to the Spice Routes of India
Our family story begins generations ago in the Arabian Peninsula — in the perfume souks of Muscat and the frankincense markets of Salalah, where our forefathers traded the finest natural aromatics the region produced. Oud was not a luxury to them. It was a language. A culture. A daily ritual woven into prayer, hospitality, and celebration.
As trade routes expanded, our ancestors followed the ancient overland paths east — through Persia and into the Indian subcontinent, eventually settling in the Mughal heartland where the attar tradition had flourished for centuries. In the bazaars of Lucknow and Hyderabad, surrounded by master attarwallahs and their copper degs, the family deepened its understanding of distillation, blending, and the patience that truly rare fragrance demands.

The Turning Point
A Hobby That Could No Longer Stay Private
For the current generation of the family, oud was never a business plan — it was a birthright and a passion. Years of collecting rare oils, corresponding with distillers across Assam and Cambodia, and building a private library of some of the most sought-after attars in existence made one thing clear: the oud available to the Western world fell far short of what the tradition deserved.
Friends and family who visited would leave clutching small vials, asking for more. Word spread. Requests became persistent. What had been a deeply personal pursuit — an inheritance from a lineage of traders, perfumers, and connoisseurs — began to feel like a responsibility. The world deserved access to genuine, exceptional oud. And we were uniquely positioned to provide it.
Premium Oudh was founded not with investors or market research, but with a family archive, a network of trusted distillers cultivated across decades, and an unwillingness to ever compromise on the quality our forefathers taught us to demand.

Every oil in our collection is sourced directly from distillers our family knows by name — relationships maintained across generations, built on mutual respect and shared reverence for the craft. We visit the forests, witness the harvests, and watch the distillation. There are no middlemen and no mystery.

We do not list hundreds of products. Every oil that appears in our collection has been personally evaluated against our family's exacting standards — the same standards passed down through the souks of Arabia and the attar houses of India. If it is here, it earned its place.
